Our Story
The Northwood Park Health Centre started initially as a Public Walk-In Clinic when the doors first opened on January 3, 2022. Since then, the clinic has thrived and expanded its services. Upon Dr. Capricci’s retirement on February 1, 2024, Dr. Laakso became the Primary Care Family Medicine Physician for her previously rostered patients. Over the past months, the clinic has facilitated the transfer of ~2,000 patients into our Primary Care Clinic.
With this new expansion, we, unfortunately, also said goodbye to our Public Walk-In Clinic in March 2024. We were unable to secure additional assistance in running the walk-in clinic.
We acknowledge the hard work of the medical receptionists in keeping our clinic flow moving and providing exceptional service to those who use our clinic as all of these exciting changes have occurred.
What you need to know!
You DO NOT need to be a client of Janzen’s to utilize our services.
Appointments are pre-booked for preventative care appointments, while same-day, same-week and within one month appointments are available on request and triaged by our Physician.
Please arrive at the clinic 5-10 mins prior to your appointment. We strive to be on time for our appointments, although there are days where the complexity of the patients’ concerns see us behind up to 1 hour. These are far and few between, but, unfortunately, can occur. We value your time and strive to ensure we are seeing patients in a timely fashion. Phone call appointments are offered where appropriate and where a physical exam is not likely to be needed to provide the standard of care. These are completed throughout the day and we ask that you have your phone handy. Dr. Laakso will call several times and if she is unable to reach you will try again the next day.
NO SHOW/LATE CANCELLATION FEE
Please be advised that there is a $50.00 NO SHOW /LATE CANCELLATION FEE for all appointments that are missed or cancelled without 24 hour’s notice. We request 24 hours notice to be able to utilize that appointment slot for another patient looking to be seen. Appointments can be changed or cancelled by calling reception at 807-577-8028, e-mailing reception at reception@northwoodparkhc.ca or by leaving a message on our FB Messenger.
